Sound familiar?
Where good matters get stuck.
Legal and conveyancing teams lose hours every week to manual processes that should have been automated years ago.
Slow client intake
New matters stall because intake forms, ID checks, and document collection are manual and fragmented.
Document-heavy bottlenecks
Contracts, certificates, and compliance docs move through inboxes instead of structured workflows.
Repetitive admin
Staff spend hours on status updates, data re-entry, and chasing missing information across systems.
Fragmented matter tracking
Spreadsheets, email threads, and legacy platforms make it hard to see where a matter actually stands.
Clunky legacy systems
Existing practice management tools were built for a different era and resist integration with modern workflows.
Uncertainty around AI
You know AI could help, but data privacy, compliance, and practical adoption feel like open questions.
How we help
Three ways to start.
Start with the existing product when it fits. Use the diagnostic when the workflow needs to be understood before anyone proposes a build.
MatterFirst
For Australian legal firms with around 1–10 staff that want matters, intake, documents, clients and billing workflows in one product.
- Tailored product demonstration
- Guided trial and onboarding
- Published plans and pricing
Outcome
A product route for running the firm without commissioning a custom build
Workflow Diagnostic
For larger firms and complex matter teams, we examine one high-value workflow before anyone proposes an implementation.
- AUD $5,000 fixed fee
- One-to-two-week process
- Credited toward a subsequent implementation
Outcome
A workflow map, evidence-backed findings and a practical implementation path
Scoped Implementation
When the diagnostic supports investment, NorthCape can design and deliver the agreed workflow, integration or operational change.
- Scope tied to diagnostic evidence
- Defined commercial proposal
- Direct access to the delivery team
Outcome
Implementation begins with an agreed problem, boundary and success measure

The product when the product fits
We will point a smaller legal firm toward MatterFirst when an existing product is the sensible answer.
MatterFirst route
Evidence before implementation
For complex teams, the diagnostic establishes the workflow, constraints and practical options before a build is proposed.
NorthCape route
No invented proof
Commercial recommendations are tied to the information available in the engagement, not generic transformation claims.

Common questions
Everything you'd want to ask first.
Is NorthCape only for legal and conveyancing firms?
Our deepest expertise is in legal, conveyancing, and matter-based operations, but the workflow automation patterns we build apply to any document-heavy, compliance-sensitive environment.
How do you keep our data private?
Privacy, hosting, access and integration requirements are established for the specific product or engagement. We do not make a blanket data-residency promise before the architecture and providers are agreed.
What does the NorthCape diagnostic include?
It is a fixed AUD $5,000, one-to-two-week examination of one high-value workflow. It produces a workflow map, findings, constraints and a practical implementation path. The fee is credited toward a subsequent NorthCape implementation arising from it.
How long does the diagnostic take?
The fixed-scope diagnostic is designed to run over one to two weeks, subject to access to the relevant workflow owner, systems and information.
Do you replace our existing practice management system?
No. We integrate with your current systems and automate the workflows around them. Our modernisation roadmap can recommend phased upgrades, but we never force a rip-and-replace.
