Is this the same thing as MatterFirst?
No, and it is worth being clear about the difference. MatterFirst is our product for smaller Australian legal firms, with published plans and pricing, covering matters, intake, documents, clients and billing in one place. This page is about custom agent deployment into whatever systems you already run. If you are a smaller firm looking for a practice system, MatterFirst is probably the better fit, and we will say so.
Will it replace our practice management system?
No. Agents plug into the tools you already run rather than replacing them. There is no migration and no rip-and-replace, which is also why a pilot can be switched off without unwinding anything.
How do you handle privilege and confidentiality?
The agent only reaches the systems you connect, with the permissions you grant, and the deployment can be configured so documents never leave an environment you control. Hosting, model choice, retention and access are decided with you during design rather than assumed.
Our people are sceptical about AI in legal work. Fairly so.
